The Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) Part 1 test is a theory test. It’s the first of 3 tests you have to pass to qualify as an ADI.
The Part One Test of Theory and Hazard Perception test is in 2 parts; all done in the same 90 minute test.
You will be asked 100 questions. These are split into 4 sections and you will be asked 25 from each section.

The question and several possible answers will appear on a computer screen. Some will need more than one answer.
You must get 20 in each section with a total of 85 across the 4 sections.
You will be shown a series of 14 video clips. Each clip has a series of potential hazards and you must click to identify you have seen a potential hazard.
One hazard will make you change speed, course or direction. This is a scoring hazard. You are scored from 5 down to 1 point. The sooner you identify the hazard, the higher the score.
One clip will have 2 scoring hazards.
You can score a maximum of 75 but need 57 to pass.
You may take this test as many times as you like.
You must pay the DVSA £81 for this test.
